Worship Residency

Southside Fellowship is excited to announce a new Worship Residency program designed to equip future worship leaders for ministry in the local church. Led by Matt Rexford, our Worship Directional Pastor, this residency provides an environment in which future worship leaders/pastors will be mentored by those who have gained knowledge and experience from years of church ministry. Our goal is for these residents to mature in their spiritual lives, as well as in their personal and musical leadership.

Matt’s desire is to build a solid relationship with each resident and encourage them in their gifts. There will be time set aside for reading and discussion, musical arranging and writing, evaluation and critique, as well as weekly participation in regular staff meetings and processes. Residents will also attend worship conferences and make observational trips to area churches. In addition to Matt, many other Southside Fellowship ministry leaders will give their time to assist the resident in understanding how the various parts of a large church ministry work together.

For more details on our church and worship ministry, see the videos below:

Ideally, applicants should be under 30 and finished with their undergraduate work. We would prefer a residency length of two years, but we are willing to examine each situation. Each resident will receive a monthly stipend, which will be discussed during the application process. It is likely that most residents will need to raise half of their living expenses.

If you are interested in this development opportunity, please complete the Residency Application and the Southside Fellowship Application and send them to:
